Off and running...

I'm off and running. My tentative release date is September 2008! I am designing the book cover and my website is going strong. Yesterday, I sold my first copy! It was sold in the United Kingdom. I'm very excited about that. Afterthoughts is in editing now. I was surprised at how nervous I was at actually handing it over. So far, I've had great reviews. I'm also really excited at how many contacts I've developed over just a few days. Well, back to work. I still have so much to do.

I'm back to investigating Agents and sending Query letters. I've received great responses so far.

January Update

It's the start of a new year and I'm updating the blog. I have a lot of new and exciting things going on. I've met with publishers and agents and have received some great advice. I've also joined a couple of writers groups that have been VERY encouraging and helpful. I have something else in the works that I am extrememly happy about. I will post more as that becomes more concrete! Wish me luck.

I'm in the process of sprucing up the website and setting myself up as a "Business".

Back to working hard on "Afterthoughts"!

Success in more ways than one

What a trip this has been. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Awesome views, great weather, what more could a girl ask for? Well as for this girl...to finish this darn book. Well guess what? I DID!!!!! I want to thank all of the nice folks at Marriott Clearwater Beach on Sand Key. Shameless but unsolicited plug. I would also like to thank Lynne Telger. I met her on a plane from Louisville to Atlanta. She was such an inspiration and she believed in me. Her kind words and her telling me what a strong woman I am really inspired me to work hard on this trip. I would also like to thank all of my new fans that supported me on my endeavor to finish this. My first small taste of fame. (I managed to sign my first few autographs!) All of this before any possible success. Maybe I can repay you somehow!

However, I would not have gotten this far without my children who are my first and most important inspiration. I want to make them proud. Also, my closest friends. I love you Laura, Tammy, Cara and Melissa. I have to mention Eric. He was the first to really support me. It doesn't matter what has happened, I could never repay that.

This trip has been a very important one to me in many ways. I have grown so much and am the happiest and most confident than I have ever been in my entire life. I have been blessed with so many great influences and inspiration, but without the courage and confindence in myself, I would not have made it this far. Chin up world...the best is yet to come! Believe in yourself first and nothing is impossible!

On my way....

I'm leaving today for Clearwater Beach, Florida. I plan on getting a little sun, but my main goal is to work on "Afterthoughts". I need to finish adding the details. Someone special suggested that I come up with a ritual upon completion, like smoking one cigarette with a shot of something. I'll have to give that some thought. :) Anyway, I'm excited to get back to work! I'll keep you posted!
